Today we have a guest post from the lovely Aubrey from Fit Fabulous Bride. Aubrey is an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer and has a variety of Bridal Preparation packages available on her website. Without further ado...
When meeting with a bride for the first time, our first question is always “how do you want to feel on your wedding day?” While the answer can vary, most times we hear a bride wanting to look and feel amazing.
Here are our top 5 tips to ensure you look and feel the absolute best for your big day.
#5 - Hydrate
You all know this – drink more water. Staying hydrated will promote healthy digestion, clearer skin, and increased energy. All things you want for your big day! This task is so easy, there really is no excuse. Strive for a ½ to 1 full gallon each day.
#4 - Eat from the earth
Eating foods from the earth is the best way to ensure your body will process all the nutrients properly. The cleaner you eat, the better. When preparing for your wedding day, this is something you should pay close attention to. Many times we eat “diet” foods or “low-fat” foods to try and lose weight. This is not the way to go. Reduce your bloat by decreasing the amount of sodium you consume, as well as eliminating any artificial flavored foods. This is especially important 3-4 weeks before your wedding day.
#3 - HIIT is a must
High Intensity Interval Training is our best recommendation for cardiovascular exercise. You will not only burn a large amount of calories, but you can do it in 30 minutes or less! Brides tend to be very busy, so why not save on time? Instead of spending hours on the treadmill running at a steady state, try 30 minutes of HIIT. You’ll see a big difference, we promise.
#2 - Increase Body Weight Exercises
While we are big lovers are lifting, right before your wedding day, we recommend decreasing the weight for some exercises. Most brides prefer long and lean lines for their wedding day. If you’ve trained with us for a while, you’ve built up some fabulous muscle, and now it’s time to show it off! Lower your weight and increase your repetitions. Throw in some cardio bursts using only your body weight as well. This will get your heart pumping and fat burning at an all-time high.
#1 - Plan ahead.
Whether you’re looking to tone up, lose weight, or even just increase your energy for the big day, it all takes time. You cannot expect to find a photographer, pick a dress, and taste your favorite cake all in the same day, right? The same can be said for personal and mental change. Create a vision for your wedding day, layout a plan, and use small goals as steps to get you there in a realistic timeframe.
Take a deep breath, and smile!
When your day finally arrives, be sure to take in every moment. You’ve worked so hard to plan this day, and prepared yourself to look and feel the way you wanted. Embrace it! Enjoy it! A happy bride is the most beautiful bride.
Notes: At Fit Fabulous Bride we know that every bride is different. What works for one individual, may not work for another. We highly recommend scheduling a personal consultation to review your goals to create a plan made just for you.
